it’s like fergie meets jesus

10/11/2006 – I got into a car accident that nearly totaled my car and still has me visiting the chiropractor once a month. And I got to sit in the backseat of a cop car.

10/11/2007 – There was a reduction in staff that lead to my demise at a job (and working for a manger) that had me going home angry every day. Me no longer at that company? Probably the best thing that’s happened to me since moving here.

10/11/2008? Nothing bad happened! The General and I took both dogs to the Minnehaha Dog Park, where Riley Pants romped in the Mississippi River. He tried to catch boats that were racing by, even though he doesn’t have the slightest idea how to swim. He tried to bite the waves when the got close enough, and he quite possibly drank half of the river. We’d discussed going to the PostSecret exhibit at the Minneapolis Public Library, but we’re saving that for tomorrow… right before I had into work for a couple of hours.

Instead, we came home, had frozen pizza, and caught up on Tivo’ed episodes of CSI: Miami. (SO jealous that Suzi and Rose got to see a real live CSI: Miami person!) I napped on and off before we managed to leave the house at 10:30, just in time to get to the Riverview Theater for the 11:00 showing of Step Brothers.

We were talking about catching the movie last night with The Boy, but I’m glad we didn’t. The last thing I think we need is for him to go to school on Monday saying things like “I’m going to take a pillowcase and fill it full of bars of soap and beat the shit out of you” or “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but I will kick you repeatedly in the balls”.

But my favorite quote of the entire movie? “You have the voice of an angel. I mean, it’s like Fergie meets Jesus.”

  1. I’m glad the bad mojo has been broken. :)

And thanks for the info about the Postsecret exhibit. We went to the book signing and heard Frank speak at the Virginia Street Church last year… it was an awesome experience. AND we haven’t been to the library yet, so we’re going this week. YAY!

What's up?
