the list could go on forever

Let me tell you a few things that make me uncomfortable to watch.

1. Someone throwing up.

2. Someone making a complete ass of themselves on TV.

3. Dogs humping inanimate objects (or anything for that matter).

4. Digger Phelps (Clemson’s Men’s basketball coach) dancing to a Kelly Clarkson song:

weird songs that trigger memories – no. 1

January 22nd, 2010 / No Comments » / by Wendy

“Think” by Aretha Franklin: The first time I remember hearing this song was when I was a freshman and starting up my very first band camp at Smith-Cotton High School. Because I was internet-less, it was next to impossible to figure out how to actually listen to the words of it, which for whatever reason were way important to me back in my 14 year old, trying to impress the overly-handsome band teacher (his nickname was Rod the Bod! Seriously!) self. I remember calling KSIS 1050 AM in Sedalia and requesting the song over and over, sitting by the radio with cassette recorder in hand to make sure I hit the record button at the exact right time.

(P.S. It just came on Pandora.)

he’s eli. he’s awesome.

We’ve had an incredibly crazy week at our house this past week with both of us working, freelancing, a couple of extra bodies at our house (don’t worry; they’re live bodies), a little foster puppy, a sick 12 year old, one boxer (Kentucky) that can’t figure out what’s going on, and one boxer (Riley) that’s decided he’s crazy in love with a 2 year old boy.

This video, however, has honestly been the highlight of my week:

tell me your favorite

January 19th, 2010 / 5 Comments » / by Wendy

I’ve recently noticed (as of about 5 minutes ago) that I don’t read a whole hell of a lot of personal blogs. And I feel like, suddenly, I want to. Because I apparently have time, right?

Anyway, let’s do this — tell me your favorite blogs. Who should I read? Maybe I’m already reading them. I don’t know. But I know I like leaving comments on personal blogs all of a sudden (as long as my work firewall doesn’t have it marked as XXX SEXXXXY PORN) and want to leave some more comments!

great clips to the rescue

I’m pretty sure that since I’ve met The Kid, he’s been trying to grow his hair out. When he and I first met, we both had faux hawks and, hell yes, we rocked them together.

This past week, he decided he wanted to get a haircut. To short and spiky. I, while extremely elated, thought he was kidding.

Nope.

monsterhaircut

He went from a mini-Chuck Norris look-alike to s Backstreet Boy. His mom? Kinda hates it. His Wendy? Seriously loves it.

I know it’s just the novelty of it, but for the last three days, he’s been sampling new hair product (my leftovers) to see which holds his hair up the best and which makes it look more spiky.

my mind just exploded

Why didn’t someone tell me Brett Favre was just a certifiably inside spaz?

Dude watches American Idol and sings about it after he wins a very important playoff game. I love him a lot. Even if he is 40 years old and blah blah blah.
