This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

For the past couple of years, I've been super annoyed at how my insurance hardly covers any medication that I need. That either results in me trying other crap that's not quite what I need just to save some money or forking over some pretty hefty co-pays for the exact prescription. Take it from me (and my ladyfriend and The Kid and my co-workers), mama needs her medicine.

Well, recently Walgreen's stopped taking my insurance. I attempted to switch pharmacies to avoid outlandish co-pays and the other pharmacy had really crappy customer service and I can't handle dealing with really crappy customer service. So, I called Walgreen's today, after I found out about their whole Walgreens Prescription Savings Club, because it actually saved me a few bucks. And I like saving a few bucks.

Laugh if you want, but if you get their family membership (which is $35), it also gives you some pretty great discounts on generics of all kinds, and their definition of "family" also includes pets. You what's a rip off? Buying pet medication directly from a vet.

Our Walgreen's pharmacy is my favorite. I keep meaning to write a letter about how much I love their customer service. But I've been saying that for a year, so I might be better off drawing them a picture with crayons.

I'm a fan of Walgreens on Facebook and I follow Walgreens on Twitter. Heck, if a company gives me awesome service, I'd even be likely follow them down a dark alley.

It’s too bad, because I could really use some advice on some of that information, you know? One thing I’ve learned hard and fast? Boys stink. The Kid is REALLY good about applying deodorant and, yes, some AXE body spray, but at least I know I’ll never have the stinky kid in class.

He’s a facts-based kid, though, so if I ever run into needing scientific evidence, this not-his-mom has found this little graphic to share:

This post brought to you by Contest Factory. All opinions are 100% mine.

I've covered them in aluminum foil. I've used tape to block the entire opening and filled it with trash. I've helped completely switch two cubes when their cube-dwellers were out of town at the same time. I've also filled them with balloons. I'm crafty like that.

There's a Pimp My Cube Contest that's a little bit different. These folks want you to take a video of your really horrible and boring cube. Maybe it's all the same color with no chance of seeing daylight unless you jump two feet in the air. (That was my last job.) Or maybe you have a monitor that weighs 42 pounds and a phone that still has a rotary dial. You'll need to narrate your video, especially in the event that you have to explain that your cube is right next to the lunch room and someone burns popcorn every day at 2pm on the dot. You can't record that kind of smell, man. I don't know. Maybe it has blood on the walls, like this guy's:

Make a video. Upload it. Tell all your friends and family and co-workers to vote for it. You could win some serious prizes. Prize packages are worth up to $1200! The contest period is from 12/5/11 at noon to 1/31/12 at noon. Don't miss out!

I don't have a cube now. I sit in a giant room of 8 desks. I'd pimp that whole room if I could.

This post brought to you by Snapdragon by Qualcomm. All opinions are 100% mine.

One of these days, after I'm done taking a nap in a bed full of 20 dollar bills, I want to gather all that money up and rename a stadium for a couple of weeks. Qualcomm Stadium (you know, where the Chargers play) is changing it's name just over the holidays to Snapdragon Stadium. Now personally, I'm much more likely to remember Snapdragon Stadium than I am Qualcomm.

It's not a bad idea really as far as advertising goes. During those 11 days (12/18 – 12/29), there's all these crazy large sport games (a co-worker called them that once) taking place there: the Chargers are playing and there are a couple of college bowl games going on, too. That's a lot of media coverage, no?

I want to be on a marketing team one day that says, hey, you know the best way to show all the football fans in the world that Snapdragon processors by Qualcomm are the digital brains inside mobile devices made? We're gonna make everyone talk about watching a game at the Snapdragon! (Again, I'd totally go to a game at a place called Snapdragon!) They're dropping about half a million dollars on an advertising schtick to hype up this little tiny chip that goes into a lot of cell phones that keeps all your favorite apps running. Turns out going to this huge renaming extreme is even cheaper than buying commercial time during the NFL football game that's being held there. That's kinda crazy! But crazy smart, you know?

And it bit it hard. The phone was working just fine and then all of a sudden the display stopped working. My cell phone provider's technical support said they hadn't ever had that problem reported before, which I believe is code for "I have no idea how to fix this, but I'm going to make you try 5000 things, all which require something popping up on the display". So, yeah. I was out of phone commission for multiple days. THAT WAS REALLY HARD.

I was browsing around T-Mobile's website for a phone that wouldn't break the bank and that would have that same awesome slideout keyboard that my phone had, because I'm so not ready for that fancy technology of touch screens only. We have unlimited texts on our phone plan, which is super important. Not so much now, but when we first started dating, we were sending over 1000 texts per month. EACH. I'm surprised my thumbs didn't fall off.

It's got a split keyboard! I'm pretty sure that's all ergonomic and crap. It's got a huge display and a pretty great camera, both must-have qualities for me, mainly because 1) I'm getting old and 2) I like pictures.

We started watching Sons of Anarchy this year on Instant Netflix, because we’d heard so many people go on and on about it. If you’ve seen the show, you’ll know how easy it was for us to get sucked into it and not want to turn it off. Now that this season has ended (don’t worry, I’m not spoiling anything for anybody!), I think we’ll manage to go through some major withdrawal of Jax/Clay/Peg Bundy drama. Except for Juice. I might miss him most of all.

And speaking of the boys in SAMCRO, I just found out that The General has changed ring tones on her cell phone… To what you ask? The theme songs of SOA, of course. I’m probably going to get a little sad when someone calls and it’s not a new episode firing up. Now that The General has making free ringtones down pat, I might actually turn my phone off of vibrate. There’s nothing I hate more than hearing a phone ring in Target and watching fourteen other people check their pockets just to make sure it isn’t theirs. I’m pretty sure three people in my office of eight have the same ringtone on their iPhone.

I need some originality in my life. Like the theme song to Survivor or Fraggle Rock blasting out of my Android. Know what I mean?

Every first of the month, I get this really great notion that I’m going to blog every single day of the month. EVERY SINGLE DAY. The thing is, I have PLENTY to talk about. More than plenty. But it’s just making myself do it that seems to be getting in the way.

—

We robbed Old Navy this weekend. Not like a gunpoint or anything, but on Saturday, they had all of their winter coats 75% off. Guess what family all needed winter coats? Yeah, this one. Three winter coats + a new frost free vest for me = under $80. While at the two Old Navys we had to go to in order to get The Kid the jacket he had his hopes and dreams set on, I kept noticing the massive piles of argyle sweaters, which just happened to be 75% off the next day.

Well, let me tell you this, sneaky Old Navy employees. I know you hid them. There’s nobody in the world that loves argyle as much as I do, so I find it hard to believe that whole table of argyle sweaters was gone in less than an hour after your sale started. The General may possibly be happy about it, but I am not. I am unhappy and argyle-less.

—

We’ve been cooking at home like FIENDS lately. It’s been good in a lot of days. We’re eating dinner as a family at the table. We’re saving money. We’re eating healthier. I learned to make quesadillas without a quesadilla maker. With ground turkey and fat free cheese, thank you very much. I’ve lost almost 10 pounds this month alone just by changing eating habits and drinking more water. So, that little habit will be continuing fo’ sho’.

—

The Kid asked me about relationship advice today on the way home from school/work. We talked about motorcycle clubs and favorite movies. And then I had to explain to him what a cover charge was and why BJ’s Liquor Lounge didn’t charge one. I’m glad we have well-rounded discussions.

This weekend was much busier than I’d expected it to be. We were kidless and apparently took advantage of it. The weekend went a little something like this:

Friday: Work, dinner (I may like salmon now), shopping, more working, sleeping.

Saturday: Laundry, working, coffee, dog park with Ani and Shawn, shopping again (mainly for awesome xmas presents), hockey game at the frat bar on campus with Jenni and Cindi.

Sunday: Church, shopping again (seriously, we are not shoppers!), catching on the DVR (specifically Survivor), napping, dinner at Brasa with Ani and Shawn, more DVR-catching up, early bed time for me.

And now I feel like Riley looks in this picture. I can’t even keep my head up.

Tonight, Washington, our 14 week old foster kitten who’s taken to nursing on my ear in the middle of the night, is having her adoption finalized, packing up her bags and moving out. Sorry, kitten, the milk in my ear-teet is all dried up. Please try someone else’s now.

Happy Monday!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Puppies vs. Babies. All opinions are 100% mine.

I like contests and I like to vote, especially when it comes to Puppies vs. Babies. I've been a fan of puppies for about, oh, just over 7 years, which coincidentally matches up to how long I've had one. And yes, I consider my 7 year old boxer a puppy. I always will. However, if this whole baby thing works out, I may have a hard time choosing which is cuter between our baby and Riley. Sorry, future child, but that's just the way it is.

In the meantime, I'm comparing four-legged cuteness with two-legged adorableness in a Puppies vs. Babies online contest. Holy. Stinking. Cute. If you like cute, you should explore some of this nonsense.

I've seen a dog or two that makes me think perhaps someone tried to put it in a paper bag and drown it by throwing it in a lake, but then the bag got dropped and ran over by a dump truck. And I've seen babies who shouldn't leave the house until they're old enough to cover up that ugly with a stylish hat. We can't all be perfect like my puppy and my future kid, right? You know what is perfect? This puppy right here:

If you ever wonder how I wound up with a dog, that picture right there explains it all. Even at 8 weeks old, I couldn't say no to this dang dog. That explains why he's in the living room right now taking up an entire piece of furniture, no?
