#reverb10 – day 6 – make

Make. What was the last thing you made? What materials did you use? Is there something you want to make, but you need to clear some time for it?

SNOW ICE CREAM. I wanted to post pictures along with this, but I haven’t been able to find my memory card reader, so that’s just going to have to wait. Making snow ice cream has been on my 101 Things to do in 1001 Days list, and the snow we got over the weekend was perfect for it!

Using Paula Deen’s recipe (yeah, I’m probably a professional cook now) and some fresh snow from our front yard gathered by The Kid, we had a quick little snack for less than two bucks. It was incredibly easy. Eight cups of snow (non-yellow), a can of sweetened condensed milk, and some vanilla extract was all it took to put together what I think will become a winter tradition in our family. Everyone seemed incredibly happy with it, including two dogs and a kitten who still has some of it all over the back of his head.

We’ve already talked about what we can add to it the next time we get some fresh snow!
