you can’t see me!

A few weeks ago, I won two tickets to WWE’s Monday Night Raw, courtesy of the Target Center’s Twitter account (@TargetCenterMN). And I’m not going to lie. My first inclination was to sell the damn things. It’s not that I didn’t appreciate them; it’s that I hadn’t watched “professional” wrestling since I was about 8 years old and managed to talk my dad into letting me quit dance lessons to stay at home and watch Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage and all of those guys.

Then, I realized, what the heck. How many other times am I going to have the opportunity to see Monday Night Raw in person? So, we went. It helped matters quite a bit that Matt also won free tickets. We had plenty of pre-wrestling drinks at Pizza Luce (and Awesome Pizza!) and NBA City (nice work, bartenders, for forgetting we were even there) beforehand. We also so a couple (like possibly a husband and wife) carrying their own championship belts on the way to the Target Center.

Overall, it was highly entertaining. The people watching was fantastic, but the whole WWE did a pretty great job keeping us entertained, even if the commercial breaks were kind of drawn out. Mike Tyson was the guest host and, guys, HE REALLY TALKS LIKE THAT. Speaking only for myself, I’m super impressed by the WWE and would totally go to something like that again strictly for the high level of entertainment they provide.

Here are some of the pictures:

About to get bamboozled.

P.S. I kind of want to have John Cena’s babies. That man is SUPER HOT.

  1. Well, you can’t have The Miz’s babies, because you’re twins! (The other wrestling fans in the family love the pics by the way.) I think we’re going in April in NJ. Even when I haven’t been following, their live events are just awesome, and they are some of the hardest workers in entertainment. You might like to read Mick Foley’s autobiography (and Shawn Michael’s) for some good looks at the behind the scenes life.

What's up?
