the day after christmas television programming

December 26th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in TV

Also called: “What I Get to Watch When Nobody Else is Home”

  • Two hours of Animal Cops: Philadelphia
  • The Thomas Crown Affair
  • Man Hunt (an hour long show about escape prisoners)
  • Incredible Dog Challenge (which takes place in San Diego. Riley can’t surf, so he’ll never win this challenge…)
  • some movie about Christmas starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Jessica Biel (in 1998)

This is all since 11:00 a.m. I have some freelance to do that should take a couple of hours and then it might be time to break out the Wii. There’s only so much laying on the couch one person can do.

P.S. What the hell is Jonathan Taylor Thomas up to these days? IMDB and Wikipedia are not answering my questions about him.

happy late christmas!

The Kid went with his dad to celebrate Christmas at his grandparents’ house. This morning The General got a phone cal at 7:30 a.m. and is now at the hospital awaiting the delivery of Doula Client #1′s little baby girl. I’ve been left to my own devices and left to entertain our dogs and a Mexican street puppy. So far, today’s involved a few hours of Animal Cops while laying on the couch covered in dogs.

I figured I deserved a break after a stunt this morning involving getting the car out of the driveway after two days of really wet snow. That situation ended with the car rolling backwards towards the neighbor’s fence and me jumping in the driver’s side door to try and stop it. Somehow, I’m not sore. Knowing my back and my awesome arthritis, I have a feeling I might be feeling it later this afternono.

I had from the 23rd to the 29th off from work, thanks to some really understanding co-workers and a really awesome boss, which would have given me plenty of time to make the trek to Missouri for Christmas. With the snow, the interstate closings, and the questionable brakes on my car, however, it didn’t work out that way. Two Christmases in a row not celebrating with family has left me feeling pretty bummed to say the least. And in the meantime, I have an entire laundry basket full of Christmas presents in our bedroom that will have to sit here until I figure out when to head home next.

I’m planning on Jan. 1 and staying for a couple of days, but the availability of my parents has yet to be determined and that might, well, throw a kink into things.
