streak for the cash for 11/13/09
I had a good day yesterday, going 5-1 throughout the day and bringing my wins for just the month of November to 26. The leader this month has 43. I have a little bit of improving to do.
Current Streak: W1 Overall record: 194-176-11 (.524)
Steve Lowery (USA) – Win or Tie: Golf is random for me. I did really well with it yesterday; today may be a different story. (So, I got the big red L on this one while I was updating the post. Not off to a good start today!)
Cameron Beckman (USA) – Win or Tie: Here’s the thing. I don’t feel like doing my research this morning, so I’m picking the Tie options as my fallback. And then what I struggle with is how long it’s going to take the foursome that contains Cameron Beckman (Briny Biard) to finish their 9 holes.
Bangor City Win: I spent three minutes researching this. Bangor City just seems to be a more higher scoring team. Or something. Random research. Really.
UAB Blazers: Why? Because a university in Green Bay, Wisconsin has a mascot called the Phoenix and that just confuses me.
New York Knicks: They’re playing at home against a team that’s not much better than them. Knicks are hard to beat at MSG.
Denver Nuggets: I’m second guessing myself on this one already. I’m sure ‘Melo will kick Kobe’s ass, though. It’s just the rest of the team that I have no idea on how they’ll perform!

They’re all right here and I totally don’t agree with them.
Why? Easy. This is the best song ever:

I will, however, agree with the fact that half the songs on there (or maybe just three) are by Simpson sisters and those can’t ever be a good idea.
E’rbody in the club gettin’ tispy? Possibly one of the greatest lyrics of all time. Also a great tattoo idea if I’ve ever seen one.
I can’t decide if I should be happy about these lists or sad, because here’s the thing — I love most of the songs. But let’s be honest. My musical taste has never been anything to brag about, no?
the great debates online
Earlier today, I’d emailed The General about a specific ongoing debate I have trouble with. I always want research and facts and all that good stuff on both sides so I can always win the argument. I don’t think that’s asking to much, is it? It wasn’t until this evening that I discovered Great Debates, which is pretty much the debating/argument equivalent to Yahoo! Answers. The only thing Yahoo! Answers is good for is making fun of people and from the “great debates” I’ve read on this site, it’s pretty close to the same.
While the information I was hoping to find was a little bit above the Should boys have to learn about periods and other “woman” things as well? level (seriously true question I found on there), I didn’t. I can’t say I’d use this site regularly, but should I happen to read all of the awesome pieces of advice doled out via Yahoo! Answers, at least I know there’s a place I can continue shaking my head in disgust for nearly all of humanity.
streak for the cash III
If you get the most wins in one month when playing Streak for the Cash, you win $2500. Seriously. Just for picking winners of games, matches, races, etc. It’s kind of awesome. However. Last month, the guy who won ended up winning picked 80 right. FOR ONE MONTH. It’s insane.
In any case, I’m not off to all that stellar of a start this month, being 17-18-1 (.486). The monthly leader right now has 35 wins. I’ve clearly got some improving to do.

3 Goals or More – Based on an absolute random guess. I know it’s not the best way to pick things, but the scoring history of both the Ireland and Iran teams’ latest games seemed to lean towards a somewhat high scoring affair. (Even though it’s 0-0 almost all the way through the first half…)
Accrington Stanley - Why wouldn’t you pick a name like Accrington Stanley? They’re playing a Bury. I can’t pick a team named Bury over anything. Plus, Accrington Stanley won 2-0 last time they met.
3 Goals or Fewer - Uh. Random again? Also going based off of the game that’s being played right now where no goal has been scored? Clearly I have some more thorough soccer research to do if I’m going to be winning the monthly prize, like, ever.
Pittsburgh Penguins - Uh, Sidney Crosby. What else?
Oklahoma City Thunder - Not sure if the Penguins/Bruins game will end by this one, but the Kings are a steaming pile of poop, so I have to pick an Oklahoma team that I constantly forget even exists.
