25 things!

January 30th, 2009 Posted in Internets, Me

Hi! We’re moved into our new place. My new desk is finally set up. The internet connection is finally stable. And I finally took part in the 25 Random Things Meme on Facebook, and I’m being an awesome internet nerd and reposting it here:

    • If I could take my friends with me, I’d move to Key West tomorrow. When we were there last year, I felt a ridiculous connection the entire time we were there.
    • I had that same connection-type feeling with Minnesota when I visited here the first couple of times. I guess that explains why I live here.
    • My biggest pet peeve in the world is poor customer service, whether I’m on the receiving end of it, see someone else get crappy service, or have a co-worker that treats someone like poop. It seriously makes my blood boil.
    • If I could have any career in the world right this very second, I’d totally be the starting point guard for the Minnesota Lynx or Horatio Caine’s assistant on CSI: Miami.
    • I got started watching CSI: Miami because I missed the beaches from my cruises and needed a regular way to see white sand and insanely blue oceans.
    • I used to think shot glasses were the dumbest souvenirs ever, but ever since I started traveling regularly, I realized it’s the best souvenir to buy and then lug home. That explains my collection of them that is still looking for a place to be displayed in our new place.
    • I’ve had 12 different addresses, including six in the past six years. Holy crap, I’m spending a lot of money on deposits.
    • I keep telling my significant other that we should have a kid and that kid’s nickname will be JoJo. I can’t explain why I want to call a kid JoJo, but I do. Like really bad. The significant other? Not so much.
    • I am so ridiculously competitive, I can’t even explain it. I want to be the best at everything I do, and if I can’t be the best I don’t want to do it anymore. That might make me sound like a five year old.
    • I feel like my current job is the perfect fit for me in about five million different ways and it’s the happiest I’ve been with an employer in my entire life.
    • I’m a huge, huge proponent of things “happening for a reason” or things that “were meant to be”. I know it’s hokey, but c’mon!
    • Riley is my first dog. It took me a week to come up with a name for him. Apollo, Tyson, and Jackson were the original names I’d picked out for him, but those are way too tough for his fancy pants self.
    • One of my favorite songs is Janet Jackson’s “Son of a Gun (Betcha Think This Song is About You)” featuring Carly Simon. I’m not even kidding.
    • I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the ocean for the past four days. It’s been a whole year since I’ve seen it and that makes me a little bit sad.
    • I took dance lessons as a kid (like ballet and tap) and hated it so much. I finally got to quit when my dad let me stay home to watch WWF Wrestling instead of going to dance class.
    • Now, I love to dance a lot. Mainly to hip hop music in a crowded room where I can get sweaty. I know that sounds hot, doesn’t it?
    • I could write about myself all day and never get tired of it.
    • I’ve had a blog since 1998. I wish I would have kept my posts prior to switching over to my own domain, but I don’t think I did. And that’s a little sad.
    • I’ve walked in three 3 Days and crewed in one. I’m crewing again this year (because I love me some sweep vans) and if you’ve ever even given it one single bit of thought about participating in The 3 Day, you should just sign up and do it. I promise it will change your life forever.
    • I had a car accident on 10/11/2006 that jacked my back up so bad, it still hurts. On 10/11/2007, I got relieved from my duties at my last job. Last year, on 10/11/2008, we didn’t even leave the house. Oddly, October 11th is also National Coming Out Day.
    • Some of my favorite words: pique, trigger, dongle, and shit.
    • I’m insanely scared of public speaking. If I weren’t, I’d totally be a performer. Of some nature.
    • When I was in middle school, I used to keep the books for any Chicago Bulls games I could catch on TV. In the off season, I kept the books for my custom team for Bases Loaded on NES. Again with the not kidding.
    • Toe socks? They kind of creep me out a lot.
    • When the fitted sheet slips off the mattress and I can actually see the mattress, I come close to panic attack status.

I’m probably going to start posting regularly now. Even if all of the co-workers in my department happen to know all about this here blog now.
