where i was to where i am
Holidailies has a prompt today that’s just begging for me to answer: Do you still live in the place where you grew up? How far away are you now, and why?
Do I still live in the place where I grew up? Nope, I certainly do not.
How far away am I? Just far enough. Google Maps says it’s 523 miles from door-to-door. The seven to eight hour drive gives me enough time to switch from living in a city with people of different colors to spending time in a small town where I’ll go to the Wal-Mart SuperCenter at least four times in a five day stay, running into no less than 6 people that I know each time. And then I’ll have to speak politely about why I moved to Minneapolis and why I love it and why I’ll never move back to Sedalia.
Sedalia? It’s just right for some people. It’s just not right for me.
