baldness = complete awesomeness

July 19th, 2007 | 1 Comment | Posted in Videos

I’ve totally turned into one of these assholes that posts YouTube videos all the time. But with this video, I really can’t say I care.

I was writing letters tonight to send out for more donations for The 3 Day Walk and wound up watching this video:

I’ve watched it a lot since it was done live, but every time I watch it, I still get the same goosebumps and standy-uppy arm hairs the whole time.

I hope I can rock a bald head as much as Melissa does and as much as Chele does.

Over the past few years, I’ve finally been able to actually afford vacations that didn’t consist of just driving a few hours and mooching off someone for a couch and whatever leftovers they’d throw my way. And while I still love those kinds of getaways from time to time, I’m also realizing that I really love hopping on a plane, going somewhere I’ve never really had the chance to explore, and actually vacationing like a grown up. You know, with hotels and stuff!

When trying to plan our cruise earlier this year, Jenni and I used SideStep.com religiously. It was a checking every day, sometimes every hour type of thing and it was the most accurate one we were able to find as far as giving prices that the airlines were actually quoting instead of some random price other “save money on these flights” sites were giving us. And you know what I love just about as much I love Guitar Hero? Cheap Flights.

I have a list of places that I still want to get to before I’m tied down with things like, well, no money. Like where? Let’s take Philadelphia, for instance. Lots of amazing historical relevance – the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the U.S. Mint, Benjamin Franklin Bridge – and I love learning me some history from places other than a text book. (Besides, the last history class I took was taught my Miss McKay, who kinda just wanted to get into the seniors pants and not teach history.) And there’s year ’round sports option for me to choose from – the Phillies, the 76ers, the Eagles, and the Flyers.

And then I’m sure it’s near Scranton, PA, and that means a tour of the local Dunder Mifflin building. (Shut up. It’s real.)

Hmm. Sidestep? Please locate Philadelphia Hotels. Thank you.

hey you look over here

Do you knit, crochet, or sew?
Do you make jewelry or pottery?
Are you an artist or photographer?
Do you bake, cook, or can?
Do you spin or make clothing?
Do you just have cool stuff you’d like to give away for an incredible cause?
WE NEED YOU!

Team Boobylicious is holding a silent auction on August 16 at Hubert’s. That’s a week before the Breast Cancer 3Day, our very last fundraiser of the year. And it also happens to be the same time I’ll be shaving my head for hitting my goal of $5000. More details to come on that piece of it!

We already have many great items to offer. We have autographed Twins baseballs signed by Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, and the coaches. We have a professional bowling ball. We have handmade items, baked goods, and art. We have gift certificates to restaurants, and merchandise from local businesses. We have 2 $75 Timberwolves tickets.

In the interest of making this event a huge success, I would appreciate any help you can give us. I would love to be able to auction handmade or original items in particular. The results from the Boob Ha Ha were spectacular and it was all homemade! If you’re the kind of person who creates and wants to help a very good cause, please contact me via email or comments here.

You will be given very generous recognition for your contribution before and during the event, featured on our auction website, and will have the satisfaction of knowing you did a good deed. Thanks in advance for your help, and a very sincere thank you to everyone who has already donated items to the cause.
